One of the best strategies for building your own communications and engagement platform is to embrace a “best of breed” approach between your community, your database and Informz. Doing so lets you have tools optimized for a particular task while still working in concert to fuel your greater goal. In the webinar, Andy Duncan from the National Hospice Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) discussed his creative solution to boost engagement for his members. Andy leveraged demonstrated engagement activities in his Higher Logic community to then offer more targeted outreach using Informz. The result is more members being aware of more resources and peer support made available by their NHPCO membership.

Research the gaps between what your people say and what they do. How are people communicating and interacting with your online community? Is there a problem to solve?

Let’s be honest, isn’t there always an opportunity for greater efficiencies? Take a look at your tools to evaluate ways to optimize your usage of them and get the most out of your marketing tools.

Do Gaps Exist?

Discuss the value of cross marketing to your active membership, with your marketing colleagues. What gaps exist? There are likely areas with lots of room to increase communications. Think about how you are currently communication with your members. What are you telling them versus what information is important to them? Are there areas of interest that they are not being addressed?

Integration Opportunities?

Access data based on demonstrated actions to enhance your engagement offerings. Can you take community activities and make them target groups for your emails? This will allow you to group people by areas of interest and send them the information that they clearly are interested in.
