Today we get to learn more about Rene, Software Operations Manager here at Informz. Rene shares with us what she loves about working at Informz and sums it up in three words. She is also a huge animal lover with a special fondness for llamas!
What is your official title and what does your job entail?
I am the Software Operations Manager at Informz. My job entails a multitude of things including juggling, dodging flaming arrows, and corralling wild horses all while helping to resolve client issues and when necessary, escalating and prioritizing with the development team. I also monitor our software processes and systems; negotiate and facilitate to help the software operations team run smoothly. I’m a care-taker at heart so the job suits me well. I’ve been with Informz for four and a half years.
I love the people here especially the team of people I get to work with every day. I interact daily with our advisors, development, IT, DEV OPS and whoever else I can sneak up on.
Describe your typical work day in three words.
Crazy, unexpected, nonstop.
If you had to spend a day not using any technology, what would you do?
I would return to a “former” life, one in which I miss a lot. I would spend the day with my daughter at our friend’s farm helping with chores and hanging out with the llamas. They are majestic, cautious, gentle, intelligent, and full of personality. They are wonderful guards for prey animals like sheep and goats. They are calming and peaceful to be around except when you are in the spitting crossfire of two brothers annoying each other like they are teenagers. More importantly, their babies, called cria, are too adorable! My daughter can tell you all about training llamas to compete in obstacle courses. Who would have thought you could win a blue ribbon for such a thing?
What is your favorite quote?
“Intense love does not measure, it just gives.” – Mother Teresa
I guess it is Saint Teresa now. Her belief that you just give your full love to those who need it, a cause, whatever, and not expect anything in return. There is no measurement, there is no keeping score, it is done selflessly.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
After calling my lawyer and accountant?? I would buy property to start a rescue to help animals needing care – cats, dogs, llamas and guinea pigs!!! Though I’m not picky. Then I have a whole list (compiled and waiting for the payout) of charities I would donate to. Oh, and I should probably pay off all my debt and write some checks to friends and family.
Describe the best vacation you ever took.
Bermuda, my sister got married there. It was 5 days after a hurricane hit the island. We made the best of it and had a blast.
Thanks, Rene, it was great to catch up! Meet other members of the Informz team here.
