Informally… Kate Kolibabchuk!
Today, I caught up with Kate Kolibabchuk, Quality Assurance Engineer here at Informz. We discussed vacationing in Georgia (the country), her favorite thing about working at Informz (okay, two favorite things), and why it would be cool to be besties with Tom Hanks.
What is your official title and what does your job entail?
Currently, I am working as a Quality Assurance Engineer transitioning to the position of Requirements Analyst.
My job is to make sure that all of the product management team’s ideas are successfully interpreted for the development and testing team. I need to ensure they have the information they need to start the implementation. Mostly, I’m asking people questions, like a lot of questions. All the time.
How long have you been with Informz?
It will be 3 years in May!
What is your favorite part of your job?
One of my favorite parts of my job is all of the amazing people I have met in the United States and the Ukraine while working for Informz.
Also, there is nothing better than seeing Informz continuously improve with each new bug fix and new feature release. I’m very proud to be a part of this.
Describe the best vacation you ever took.
Last summer I went to Georgia (the country) for 10 days. I visited 5 cities with a lot of chair lifts, khachapuri, and went hiking in the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen. It was very busy but unforgettable.
If you could be best friends with a famous actor or actress, who would you choose?
I think I would get along with Tom Hanks. I love his acting and I think he is very wise and super fun at the same time. And I’m really curious how it feels to have an asteroid named after you.
What was your favorite activity in gym class?
I loved playing soccer. Our team was probably the worst in the town, but we were all having fun.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love horseback riding and hiking on (and with) horses. I live close to the beautiful Carpathian Mountains in the Ukraine and love hiking. When it’s colder outside I enjoy drawing at home and watching 10 movies per week.
Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?
Japan! I love Japanese culture (at least everything I know about this culture from studio Ghibli movies and Haruki Murakami books). I also want to go to New Zealand – to see the Lord of the Rings location, all the green hills and mountains.
Thanks, Kate! Meet other members of the Informz team here.
